This is done on hot pressed paper. The colors were very slippery! Any way, it is a different interpretation.

Cliffs at Quody State Park

I went on a hike last year in Lubec. These cliffs were magnificent. They were so high that I couldn't fit them in a picture, no matter how close I got to the edge. Ofcourse this made someone scared, but finally I was able to get the picture. I tried to be colorful with my paints because that day was really cloudy!

Lobster Dinner/ Acrylics

Acrylic

I haven't painted for a while. I feel really dry. I tried to do some acrylics. I have mixed feelings about it! It does look simple, but I used 3 photographs I took last summer. The clouds were actually facing the other way. I tried to create a composition that leads the eye through the painting. You look at the boat, then the floats lead you to the light house, which then leads you through the clouds, all in a zig-zag or Z pattern. I also tried to repeat the same colors throughout, like the rosy reds in the clouds and the water, and the blues in the water and the sky!!

Bistro

This is a painting for my friend Scott. This was done from a card he gave me. It is one of my experimentations in acrylics. It is different to stop thinking in watercolor, but it doesn't look too bad....

Low Tide 2

This is done from the same sketch I did before. However, I was driving back from work, and the color of the sea was very dark because of the wind. Some parts of the landscape were dark because of the moving clouds. I retained the feel of that in my memory, and tried to convey it in this painting...
